The reason I chose "Airplanes" as my search string is because they have always been a topic that interested me. Once I decided to use it as my search string, I thought that it would be a good idea to look at how many of the results corresponded to booking flights and how many actually looked at and explained how planes work and take flight. The results were interesting to me. Barring the ads at the top of many, if not all, of the search engines, majority of the results addressed the issue of how planes work and where you could actually find news and current information regarding the aviation community and the science of aviation. However, what I found even more interesting, and slightly funny, is that the song "Airplanes" by B.O.B and featuring Hayley Williams came up multiple times, and it preceded the offers to book flights every time and sometimes even the Wikipedia page concerning airplanes themselves. The power of Music huh? 

On the topic of differences and similarities of search engines and meta-search engines, the results were very similar. Except for the fact that nearly all the meta-search engines attribute their information to the search engines they retrieved it from, I saw no large differences in results. Wikipedia was brought up in both cases along with music and information regarding or referring to airplanes.
